Nuclear Material Misuse Editorial Illustrations
Illustrations for four nightmare scenarios involving nuclear materials done for the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine. They asked for simplified imagery with a serious tone. I took inspiration from spy films from the 70s for tone and stuck to almost monochromatic palettes.
Scenario 1: Theft or illegal sale of a device or material.
Scenario 2: Theft of fissile material leading to the fabrication and detonation of an improvised nuclear device (IND).
Scenario 3: Sabotage in control room of power plant
Scenario 4: Dirty bomb
